ON Monday June 18, 2007 the Charleston Fire Department responded to a "standard Structure fire" A call that firefighters all too often take for granted as run of the mill. This incident quickly evolved into one of the most famous and tragic fire scenes in fire history. We are going to cover what went wrong on this call, as chronicled in the NIOSH report, that caused it spiral out of control and ultimately claim the lives of 9 of our finest brothers- " The Charleston 9"
