ON the evening of February 20th 2003 the West Warwick Fire Department responded to a structure fire that claimed the lives of 100 people and injured 230 people. This incident quickly evolved into one of the most famous and tragic events in fire history. We are going to discuss the background of the club, the cause of the fire and what could have been done differently. We are going to cover the chain of events as chronicled in the NIST ( National Institute Of Standards and Technology), which ultimately lead to this deadly tragedy.
